چکیده

Our challenge is focused on making two predictions that revolve around the outcome of movies for the current year 2014. The first challenge is to predict the nominees and award winners for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards taking place on January 11th, 2015. We will focus our efforts to predict the winners of the following four categories: Best Director, Best Actor Motion Picture Drama, Best Actress Motion Picture Drama and Best Screenplay. The second challenge is to predict how much the movies running in theaters on Christmas Day will gross. We consider only the prerelease data associated wih movies to predict the gross of the movies. While both the Golden Globes and Box office gross revolve around the success of the film industry, the two metrics that assess a movies success are very different from each other. Our final report that follows will outline or split approach to handling the two challenges.
